Frequently asked questions

What does Wavelet do?

It adds a slim bar under your store's menu that suggests collections to visit next, based on what each shopper is browsing: the collections they open, the filters and searches they use, and what they add to the cart. It links to collections and filtered collection pages, not individual products.

How do I turn it on?

After installing, open Wavelet in your admin. Home has a setup checklist with a button that opens your theme editor with the Wavelet app embed ready to switch on. Switch it on and save. The bar appears under your header across your store; you can choose which page types show it in Settings.

How long until suggestions appear?

Wavelet maps how your collections relate as soon as you pick a plan or start your free trial. That usually takes a few minutes (longer for very large catalogs). Home shows progress, and you can leave the page while it works. The map updates by itself when you add or change products and collections.

Can I choose where the bar goes?

Yes. By default it sits right under your header. To place it somewhere else, add the "Wavelet bar" block to any section in the theme editor, and the bar moves there.

Can I control what it suggests?

Yes. In the app you can hide collections, pin your own suggestions on any collection, change the bar's label and how many links it shows, choose whether sale collections appear, and set a minimum number of items in stock. Changes reach your store within a few minutes.

How do I know it's working?

Open Results in the app. It shows how shoppers use the bar (how many visits click a suggestion, and how often a click leads to a product), and what visits that used it went on to do next to visits that didn't: add-to-carts and checkout starts, plus orders and order value if you turn on order measurement there. To measure how much of that the bar itself causes, contact us: we can set aside a share of visits that don't see the bar and compare the two groups.

Will it slow down my store?

It's built to stay out of the way: the first links are drawn by your theme with the page, the script (about 10 KB) loads after the page, and the bar's space is reserved so nothing on the page moves. In our tests on popular themes, speed scores stayed within normal run-to-run variation.

Does it collect my customers' data?

No. What a shopper browses stays in their own browser tab and is never sent to us. To measure results, the bar counts visits, add-to-carts and checkout starts (and, if you turn it on, the Wavelet pixel counts order subtotals), with no customer information, and only with shoppers' analytics consent. See the privacy policy for details.

It doesn't look right with my theme.

Email us your store address and a screenshot. We can adjust the bar's spacing and placement for your store without any theme code changes on your side.

How do I pause or remove it?

Pause the bar any time in Settings, or switch off the app embed in your theme editor. Uninstalling removes the bar, and we delete your store's data within 48 hours.
